Mike was born and raised in southwestern Pennsylvania and has lived with his partner in northeast Columbus since 2003. His mother is a teacher at a Catholic school and his father is an accountant. He has one younger brother. Mike actively participated in the nationally renowned Norwin High School marching band, high school track and field team, and holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. Mike was also involved in numerous church activies including Chancel Choir, mentoring youth, and Bell Choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Irwin.
Mike moved to Columbus in 1997 to attend The Ohio State University as an engineering undergraduate student. After experiencing the trials and tribulations of academic life and getting several years of real-world working experience, Mike completed school at DeVRY and graduated in October 2004 with a BS in Computer Information Systems. Mike went on to earn a Masters in Project Management and a Masters in Public Administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
Mike’s work experience over the years includes a wide variety of job sectors including customer service, food service, manual labor, manufacturing, banking, e-commerce, auditing, and IT. Mike currently earns a living doing professional business writing and as a personal trainer.
Mike is running in this race to protect and expand our civil rights, restore and improve our education system, protect our social safety net, and return accountability and transparency to Ohio government. Mike currently serves as the Secretary for the Central College Community Development Authority, to which he was elected in December 2012.Get Involved
