Summary


Judge Frye is a long term resident of Central Ohio. Judge Frye has always felt the call to serve the public in the city and county where he was raised. His tenure as Judge has served our community well and his continued service to our community is needed.

Experience

Richard A Frye seeks re-election to a third term in 2016 as a Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge.  He was elected in 2004 in his first effort and ran unopposed in 2010.

Judge Frye has received multiple awards for his work as a judge.  Judge Frye has been appointed twice by the Chief Justice to the Ohio Supreme Court’s statewide Case Management Committee, which studies rules and procedures for courts across Ohio.  Frequently he is invited as a speaker at education programs for lawyers and judges.

A graduate of Wittenberg University (1970) and the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University (1973), before going on the bench Judge Frye spent 30 years as a trial lawyer in private practice.  He also served a short time as an Ohio Assistant Attorney General and on active duty in an Air Force JAG office.

Judge Frye was President of the Columbus Legal Aid Society in 2003-04.  He currently serves on the board of the Columbus Bar Foundation.  The Judge has been endorsed in 2016 by the Stonewall Democrats of Central Ohio.
